Introduction

A combination of bacitracin + neomycin + polymixin.

Contraindications

pregnancy-category C

safety in lactation ?

Dosage

Topical

• Apply cream 2-5 times/day.

Ophthalmic agent:

• ointment every 3-4 hours or BID-QID
• 1 drop every 1-6 hours
• duration of therapy: 7-10 days

Adverse effects

• not common (1-10%)
  • itching, erythema, edema, failure to heal, allergic contact dermatitis (neomycin is a contact sensitizer)
