Indications

management of anemia of renal insufficiency

Dosage

• IM dosing only
• men: 100-200 mg IM weekly
• women: 50-100 mg IM weekly

Nandrolone phenylpropionate. Tradename: Durabolin. 50-100 mg IM weekly

Adverse effects

• nausea/vomiting
• diarrhea
• virilization
• acne
• gynecomastia
• testicular atrophy
• changes in libido
• females:
  • hirsuitism
  • deepening of voice
  • clitoral enlargement
• chronic effects (long term use)
  • peliosis hepatis
  • liver cell tumors
  • increased risk of atherosclerosis

• drug adverse effects of androgens

Drug interactions

• increased anticoagulant effect of warfarin
• increased hypoglycemic effect of sulfonylureas
