Etiology
Pathology
- blood-filled cysts in the liver
Clinical manifestations
- weight loss
- abdominal pain
- fever
- nausea
- may occur in association with bacillary angiomatosis
Laboratory
- liver function tests are often abnormal
- liver biopsy
Radiology
Management
- erythromycin
- erythromycin plus rifampin
- erythromycin plus gentamicin
- ceftriaxone plus gentamicin
- doxycycline plus gentamicin
- treatment for 4 weeks
