Introduction
Etiologic agent of cat scratch disease.
Epidemiology
- spread by the fleas of cats or cat bites or cat scratches
- cases have been reported from exposure to dogs & monkeys
Clinical manifestations
- incubation period: 3-38 days
- HIV patients
- cat scratch disease
Laboratory
Diagnostic procedures
- ophthalmoscopy if evidence of neuroretinitis[3] (image)
Management
- doxycycline
- add topical & oral glucocorticoids for neuroretinitis[3]
