Epidemiology
- least common variant of Hodgkin's disease.
- more common in older people and HIV+ individuals.
Pathology
- diffuse infiltrate, often hypocellular
- large numbers of Reed-Sternberg cells & bizarre variants
Immunophenotype
tumor cells
Genetics
Clinical manifestations
- frequently abdominal lymphadenopathy, spleen, liver & bone marrow involvement without peripheral adenopathy
- usually advanced stage at diagnosis
- response to treatment similar to other subtypes
