Function
- ligand-specific transporter trafficking between intracellular organelles (trans Golgi) & the plasma membrane
- role in autocrine regulation of cell growth mediated by growth regulators containing cell surface retention sequence binding
- hyaluronan transporter, either mediating its uptake for catabolism within lymphatic endothelial cells themselves, or its transport into the lumen of afferent lymphatic vessels for subsequent re-uptake & degradation in lymph nodes
- interacts with PDGFB & IGFBP3
- forms a transient ternary complex with PDGFB & PDGFRB in trans Golgi
Structure
- homodimer, disulfide-linked
- O-glycosylated
- contains 1 Link domain
Compartment
- plasma membrane, trans-Golgi, endosomes
- undergoes ligand-dependent internalization & recycling at cell surface
Expression
- expressed in endothelial cells lining lymphatic vessels
