• expressed weakly in peripheral blood leukocytes, bone marrow & spleen.
• expression is confined mostly to monocytes & macrophages
• expression seems to be up-regulated by IL-6, IL-10, TNF-alpha & IFN-gamma
• induced by autocrine inflammatory stimuli
