Function
- interacts with LFA-3 & CD48/BCM1 to mediate adhesion between T-cells & other cell types
- implicated in the triggering of T-cells, the cytoplasmic domain is implicated in the signaling function
- may associate with lck[5]
- interacts with CD2AP (putative)
- interacts with PSTPIP1
Structure
- contains 1 Ig-like C2-type domain (immunoglobulin-like)
- contains 1 Ig-like V-type domain (immunoglobulin-like)
Compartment
membrane
Expression
- thymocytes ~95%
- almost all peripheral T cells
- NK cells 80-90%
- thymic B cells ~50%
