Function
- orphan receptor
- activates a G-alpha protein, most likely Gq-alpha
- apoptosis
- functions at G2/M checkpoint to delay mitosis
- slows proliferation
- promotes repair of damaged DNA
- internalized & accumulated in endosomal compartments
- LPC triggers the relocalization from the endosomal compartment to the cell surface
- induced by stress and DNA-damaging agents
Structure
belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family
Compartment
- cell membrane
- internalized & accumulated in endosomal compartments
- lysophosphatidylcholine triggers the relocalization from the endosomal compartment to the cell surface (putative)
Alternative splicing
named isoforms=2
Expression
expressed in macrophages, spleen, thymus > heart, lung
Pathology
-expressed in atherosclerotic plaques, around lipid core & at shoulder region
