Pathology
- lipid deposits on the arterial intima, producing a yellow-colored swelling on the surface of the endothelium.
- atheromas are characteristic of atherosclerosis.
- increased activity of the sympathetic nerve fibers within the adventitia of arteries increases growth or atheromas[2]
