• biogenesis of otoconia
• activated by the ototoxic drug cisplatin
• activated by NOXO1
• cooperatively activated by NCF1 & NCF2 or NOXA1 phorbol ester dependent
• contains 1 ferric oxidoreductase domain, residues 55-549

Inhibition:

• inhibited by diphenyleneiodonium chloride
