• isoform long is a corepressor of estrogen receptor (ER)
• isoform short binds to ER & sequesters it in the cytoplasm & enhances non-genomic responses of ER
• component of the nucleosome-remodeling & histone-deacetylase multiprotein complex (NuRD complex)
• interacts with HDAC1 & ITGB3BP/CENPR
