Function

• specific down-regulator of NEDD8 conjugation system
• recruits NEDD8, UBD, & their conjugates to the proteasome for degradation
  • isoform 1 binds to & promotes the degradation of NEDD8 more efficiently than isoform 2
• interacts with NEDD8, PSMD4 (regulatory subunit of 26S proteasome)
• interacts with AIPL1
• interaction with UBD via UBA domains facilitates linking of UBD-conjugated target protein to the proteasome complex & accelerates UBD degradation & that of its conjugates
