Introduction
Conjugation of a target protein with ubiquitin-like protein NEDD8. The only known substrates for neddylation by NEDD8 are the cullins. Neddylation of cullins plays a role in recruitment of ubiquitin-conjugating protein-E2 to the multienzymatic ubiquitination complex.
Neddylation may play a role in:
- cell cycle regulation
- cytoskeletal regulation
