• tyrosine kinase
• activated by integrin-beta 1 & integrin-beta 3 cross-linking
• apparently associates with surface immunoglobulin (sIg) B-cell antigen receptor & with high affinity IgE receptor in mast cells & is activated by ligand binding to these receptors
• role in proliferation, differentiation, & phagocytosis

Structure

• contains 2 SH2 domains

Expression

• expressed in hematopoietic cells

Pharmacology

• fostamatinib is a small molecule Syk kinase inhibitor with potential anti-inflammatory & immunomodulating activities
