Function
- strong transcriptional activator
- DNA-binding protein that specifically recognize sequence 5'-YAAC[GT]G-3'
- role in the proliferation &/or differentiation of neurogenic, spermatogenic & B-lymphoid cells
- component of the DREAM complex
- p90A-myb can activate transcription from genes containing myb enhancer element[2]
- A-myb may play a role in spermatogenesis
Structure
contains 3 HTH myb-type DNA-binding domains
Compartment
Expression
- expressed mainly in the testis, B-cells & mitotically active cells in the developing nervous system
Pathology
- expressed in a variety of lymphoid & solid tumor lines cultured in vitro
Notes
short 1/2 life
