Pathology
- miR-1 is overproduced in ischemic cardiac muscle when overproduced in rat hearts, miR-1 induces ectopy slows conduction & depolarizes the cytoplasmic membrane by post-transcriptionally repressing: KCNJ2 (encodes the K+ channel subunit Kir2.1) & GJA1 (which encodes connexin 43)
