Introduction
Local anemia resulting from hypoperfusion.
Etiology
- mechanical obstruction (mainly arterial narrowing) of the blood supply
Clinical manifestations
- severe pain in occluded vascular territory*
- livedo reticularis
- pallor
Radiology
- angiography is therapeutic procedure considered
* No sensation within the CNS, thus cerebral ischemia is painless
