Local anemia resulting from hypoperfusion.

Etiology

• mechanical obstruction (mainly arterial narrowing) of the blood supply

Clinical manifestations

• severe pain in occluded vascular territory*
• livedo reticularis
• pallor

Radiology

• angiography is therapeutic procedure considered

* No sensation within the CNS, thus cerebral ischemia is painless
