Pathology
- benign proliferation of inflammatory tissues in the sinuses
- atopy
- proliferation of eosinophils & fibroblasts
- asthma is frequent association
Management
- treatment is disappointing; nothing provides objective improvement
- not a surgical disorder without underlying anatomical disorder
- no role for antibiotics
- nasal ipratropium may provide symptomatic relief
- nasal saline may provide symptomatic relief
