Introduction

Commonly used batteries of memory measures similar to WAIS.

Disadvantages

• not best memory test for evaluating elderly
• focuses on attention & immediate recall*
• combination of verbal & visual tests#

* testing of elderly need to focus on delayed recall

# in the elderly, there is a significant decline in visual, but not verbal skills

Notes

The subsets paired-associate learning & logical memory tests may be useful for evaluating elderly patients.
