    • 75% from ingestion
    • children under 5 years
    • button battery most frequently implicated

Radiology

  • button batteries can be mistaken for a coin, ECG electrode or other external object on chest X-ray
    • disk-shaped objects should be examined carefully for diameter & a double rim
