Indications
- palliative treatment of prostatic cancer
Contraindications
- active thrombophlebitis
- hypersensitivity to estramustine, estradiol or nitrogen mustard
Dosage
Take on an empty stomach
Avoid taking with milk
Capsule: 140 mg
Adverse effects
- common (> 10%)
- diarrhea, nausea, decreased libido, breast tenderness, breast enlargement, edema, dyspnea, mild increases in liver function tests
- less common (1-10%)
- uncommon (< 1%)
- night sweats, pigment changes, hypercalcemia, tinnitus, hot flashes, depression, cardiac arrest
