Pathology
- myocardial ischemia
- involved arteries
- left circumflex artery, circumflex branch
- right coronary artery (RCA), posterior descending branch
- involved arteries
- tissue injury: posterior wall of left ventricle
Indications
- suspected acute coronary syndrome
- 12-lead electrocardiogram
- leads V1-V3 or V2-V4 dominant R waves & ST segment depression & T-wave inversion
Diagnostic procedures
- ECG with modified leads: ECG lead V7, ECG lead V8 with or without ECG lead V9
- ST-segment elevation in ECG lead V7 & ECG lead V8 = STEMI (posterior wall myocardial infarction)
