- validated score to predict grade 3-5 chemotherapy toxicity in early-stage breast cancer
Procedure
- 8 independent predictors identified:
- anthracycline use (1 point)
- stage II or stage III breast cancer (3 points)
- planned treatment duration > 3 months (4 points)
- abnormal liver function tests (3 points)
- low blood hemoglobin (3 points)
- falls in the elderly (4 points)
- limited ambulation (3 points)
- lack of social support (3 points)
Interpretation
- low risk (0-5 points)
- intermediate risk (6-11 points)
- high risk (>= 12 points)
