restrictions on nursing home visits during COVID-19 pandemic

Introduction
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), together with the CDC, have eased restrictions on indoor visits to nursing home residents duirng the COVID-19 pandemic.
indoor visitation should be allowed at all times and for all residents
outdoor visits are still preferable, even among fully vaccinated individuals
exceptions
- resident is unvaccinated, the county's positivity rate > 10%, & < 70% of the facility's residents are fully vaccinated (< 2 weeks since their final dose)
- resident has confirmed COVID-19.
- resident is in quarantine, even if they are vaccinated
all visitors should be screened for COVID-19 symptoms & recent exposure , use of face masks & observance of physical distancing
if resident is fully vaccinated, they can choose to have close contact (including touch) with their visitor while wearing a well-fitting face mask & performing hand-hygiene before & after
visitors should physically distance from other residents & staff in the facility
