Introduction
Isolation of a person or animal with known or possible contagious disease. The term is used frequently in reqards to persons with infected with COVID-19.
- exposure of non-essential worker who tests negative: 14 days
- essential workers who test negative:
- can continue to work if asymptomatic
- essential workers who test positive:
- 1800 quarantined athletes with exposures from
- social gatherings (41%), roommates (32%), respective sports (13%)
- 25% tested positive during quarantine
- mean time until positive test 3.8 days from start of quarantine
- probability of a positive test < 5% after day 10.[3]
- 1/3 of contacts testing positive on PCR 7 days after exposure are asymptomatic
- no person negative on day 7 tested positive 8-14 days after exposure[4]
