Introduction
Separation of a patient & their secretions from contact with others.
Indications
- communicable disease via airborne spread
- C-difficile colitis (contact isolation precautions)
Complications
- isolation for patients with respiratory illnesses & resistant Staphylococcal infections is associated with longer hospital stays & higher hospital costs[5]
