Indications

• treatment of overactive bladder with symptoms of urge urinary incontinence, & urinary frequency in adults Contraindecations:
• not recommended for eGFR < 15 mL/min

Dosage

• 75 mg PO QD

Tabs: 75 mg (Tablet may be crushed & mixed with applesauce)

Adverse effects

• most common > 2%
  • headache, urinary tract infection, nasopharyngitis, diarrhea, nausea, upper respiratory tract infection.
• warning: urinary retention

• drug adverse effects of adrenergic receptor agonists
• drug adverse effects of beta-adrenergic receptor agonists
• drug adverse effects of sympathomimetic(s)

Drug interactions

• digoxin:
  • measure serum digoxin concentrations before initiating GEMTESA
  • monitor serum digoxin concentrations to titrate digoxin dose
