Introduction
High affinity NMDA receptor antagonist are generally toxic; however, several low-affinity NMDA receptor antagonists are in use as pharmaceutical agents:
Adverse effects
- NMDA receptor antagonists cause positive, negative, & cognitive symptoms similar to schizophrenia in animals & healthy individuals & worsen symptoms in schizophrenic patients[1]
