pruritic papules & plaques of pregnancy (PUPPP)

Clinical manifestations

• erythematous pruritic erythematous papules & plaques
  • may become vesicular
• accompanying edema
• initially within abdominal striae
  • may generalize, but spares face, palms, soles
• 3rd trimester or postpartum

Management

• self limited, resolved shorly after delivery
  • early delivery rarely required
• topical glucocorticoids + antihistamines treatment of choice
