Introduction
- neuroeptide mixture from purified brain extracts by enzymatic breakdown
- porcine-derived collection of growth factors[5]
Function
- has nerve growth factor like activity on DRG neurons
Indications
Dosage
- 30 mL/day cerebrolysin intravenous infusion with 0.9% saline
- administered for 30 days over a 3 month perior
Mechanism of action
- unknown, effects may be longer lasting than drug itself[1]
- may inhibit apoptosis[2]
- induces expression of blood brain barrier glucose transporter expression[3]
- improves synaptic plasticity & behavioral performance in a mouse model for Alzheimer's disease[4]
