Introduction
SIRT1 activators may be of clinical importance because SIRT1 appears to be a principal downstream modulator of calorie restriction.
Sirt1 activators include:
- resveratrol (component of red wine) EC1.5=46.2 uM, maximum activation 102%
- butein
- piceatannol
- isoliquiritigenin
- fisetin
- quercetin
- SRT1720 (most potent) EC1.5=0.16 uM, maximum activation 781%
- SRT1460 EC1.5=2.9 uM, maximum activation 447%
- SRT2183 EC1.5=3.6 uM, maximum activation 296%
- SRT501
