Introduction

Indictations:

• bladder stones (urinary calculus)

Procedure

• a cystoscope is inserted into the bladder
• a crushing device, lasers or ultrasound transmitted from the cystoscope breaks up the stones into smaller fragments, washed out of the bladder with fluids
• conducted under local anesthesia or general anesthesia
• generally hospitalization required
