Indications

• control surgical bleeding in patients for whom standard techniques (sutures) are insufficient

Dosage

• spray-dried fibrin sealant
• should be used with an absorbable gelatin sponge

Adverse effects

• constipation
• fever
• hypotension
• nausea
• surgical pain

Mechanism of action

• contains fibrinogen & thrombin
• promotes clotting when dissolved in blood.
