Pathology
- bleeding gastrointestinal angioectasias in patients with aortic valvular stenosis
- normally asymptomatic gastrointestinal angioectasias bleed due to mechanical disruption of vWF multimers during turbulent flow through a stenotic aortic valve in patients with severe aortic valvular stenosis
- secondary von Willebrand's disease results with GI bleed from gastrointestinal angioectasias
