Adverse effects

Notes

  • volume of intranasal medication administered by an atomizer is 14 times greater when used in the supine versus upright position[2]
  • to avoid accidental overdose when squeeze-bottle atomizers are used for delivery of intranasal medications, patient should be in upright or at an angle of >= 45 degrees & bottles should not be > 1/2 full[2]
