Mechanism of action

• structurally similar to capsaicin from hot pepppers & synephrine from citrus
• increases lipolysis in mice fed high-fat diet
  • may increase expression of adiponectin
  • may inhibit fructose-associated fat accumulation
  • may inhibit fat absorption via reduction of pancreatic lipase activity
