rare
Pathology
- inflammation & fibrosis of the small intestine
Radiology
- computed tomography (CT) of abdomen
- calcification in the mesentery is present in sclerosing mesenteritis but usually not other disorders
Differential diagnosis
Management
- observation in mild cases
- tamoxifen (Soltamox) indefinitely plus prednisone tapered over 3 months
- surgery for intestinal obstruction
- follow surgery with tamoxifen & prednisone
