Etiology
- associated with rise in plasma Na+ after treatment of hyponatremia* associated with SIADH
* rapid correction of severe hyponatremia (> 12 mEq/L per 24 hours) is associated with lower mortality without excess risk for osmotic demyelination syndrome[1]

- quadriplegia
