Introduction
Tradename: Isopto Homatropine.
Indications
- cycloplegia & mydriasis for refraction
- treatment of acute inflammatory conditions of the uveal tract
- pre- & post-operative mydriasis
Dosage
- mydriasis & cycloplegia
- 1-2 drops of 2% solution or 1 drop of 5% solution before procedure
- repeat as needed at 5-10 minute intervals
- uveitis: 1-2 drops (2% or 5%) BID-TID PRN 2 & 5% (5 mL, 15 mL).
Adverse effects
- common (> 10%)
- less common (1-10%)
- uncommon (< 1%)
- vascular congestion
- edema
- drowsiness
- exudate
- eczematoid dermatitis
- follicular conjunctivitis
