pemphigus erythematosus (Senear-Usher syndrome)

Introduction

A localized variant of pemphigus foliaceus confined to site susceptible to seborrhea.

Pathology

• IgG & C3 deposits at dermal epidermal junction in addition to intercellular epidermal deposits
• antinuclear antibodies (ANA)
• may be associated with thymoma & myasthenia gravis

Clinical manifestations

• erythematous, crusted, erosive lesions in the face, forehead, presternal & interscapular regions
