- cell adhesion molecule expressed on platelets & at endothelial cell intercellular junctions
- phosphorylated on Ser & Tyr after cellular activation

- long isoform predominates all tissues examined
- isoform delta12 was detected only in trachea
- isoform delta14-15 only in lung

Pathology
- expressed in:
- epithelioid hemangioendothelioma
- vascular tumors
- histiocytic malignancies
- carcinomas & other sarcomas - rare
