Jump to search
Function
- receptor for prostaglandin D2 (PGD2)
- activity mediated by Gs proteins that stimulate adenylate cyclase & increase intracellular cAMP
- mobilization of Ca+2 also occurs, but without formation of IP3
- neuroprotective for hippocampal pyramidal neurons in paradigms of glutamate toxicity[2]; this contrasts with activation of CRTH2 (DP2) which promotes neuronal loss[2]
- BW245C is agonist
Structure
belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family
Compartment
Expression
expressed in retina & small intestine
Pathology
- genetic variations in PTGDR are associated with susceptibility to asthma-related traits type 1
