Function
- T-cell-specific adapter protein involved in control of T-cell activation (putative)
- role in CD4-p56-LCK-dependent signal transductio
- role in normal & pathological angiogenesis
- adapter protein that facilitates & regulates interaction of KDR with effector proteins important to endothelial cell survival & proliferation
- interacts with KDR
- phosphorylated on Tyr
Structure
- contains 1 SH2 domain
Compartment
Alternative splicing
named isoforms=3
Expression
- limited to tissues of the immune system, particularly activated T-cells
- expressed in peripheral blood leukocytes, thymus & spleen >> brain, placenta, skeletal muscle, prostate, testis, ovary, small intestine, and colon
- expressed at low levels in unstimulated T-cells,
- not expressed in normal resting or activated B-cells
- rapidly induced after activation of T-cells
