Function

• subcellular trafficking between endoplasmic reticulum & Golgi via Rho-type GTPases
• binds to MLF1, recruiting a serine kinase which phosphorylates both NRBP & MLF1, thus preventing binding of MLF1 to YWHAZ
• phosphorylated MLF1 binds to YWHAZ & is retained in the cytoplasm (putative)

• belongs to the protein kinase superfamily, Ser/Thr protein kinase family
• contains 1 protein kinase domain predicted to be catalytically inactive

• cytoplasm, endomembrane system, cell projection, lamellipodium
• co-localizes with activated RAC3 to endomembranes & in lamellipodia

Expression

• ubiquitously expressed, high levels in the testis

Pathology

• binding to the NS3 protein of dengue virus type 2 subverts activity into alteration of intracellular membrane structure associated with flaviviral replication
