Function
- histone H1 binds to 'linker DNA' (~ 80 base-pairs) between nucleosomes, helping stabilize the 30 nm chromatin fiber[1][2]
- it binds DNA at the sites of entry to & exit from the nucleosome, sealing off the nucleosome (illustration in[1][3])
