Function
- transcriptional activator
- DNA-binding protein that specifically recognizes sequence 5'-YAAC[GT]G-3'
- role in control of proliferation & differentiation of hematopoietic progenitor cells
- binds MYBBP1A
- interacts with HIPK2 & NLK
- ubiquitinated; mediated by SIAH1 & leading to its subsequent proteasomal degradation (probable)
- phosphorylated by NLK on multiple sites, which induces proteasomal degradation (putative)
Structure
- comprised of 3 domains
- N-terminal DNA-binding domain
- centrally located transcriptional activation domain
- C-terminal domain involved in transcriptional repression
- contains 3 HTH myb-type DNA-binding domains
Compartment
Alternative splicing
named isoforms=6
Expression
- normally expressed in immature hematopoietic cell lineages
Notes
short 1/2 life
