• transcriptional coactivator
• specifically associates with either OCT1 or OCT2
• boosts OCT1 mediated promoter activity & to a lesser extent, that of OCT2
• no intrinsic DNA-binding activity
• recognizes POU domains of OCT1 & OCT2
• essential for response of B-cells to antigens
• required for the formation of germinal centers
• ubiquitinated; mediated by SIAH1 or SIAH2 & leading to its subsequent proteasomal degradation
