Function
- negatively regulates MAP kinase activation by limiting formation of Raf/MEK complexes via inactivation of the KSR1 scaffold protein (putative)
- acts as a Ras responsive E3 ubiquitin ligase
- on activation of Ras, is modified by auto-polyubiquitination
- results in release of inhibition of Raf/MEK complex formation
- cytoplasmic retention protein with a role in regulating nuclear transport
- interacts with the nuclear localization signal of BRCA1 & the N-terminal of KSR1
- C-terminal portion of BRCA1 interacts with DDB1
Structure
- contains 1 RING-type zinc finger
- contains 1 UBP-type zinc finger
Compartment
Expression
expressed in breast epithelial cell line
