Function
- may be involved in vesicular trafficking via its association with the CART complex
- required in a complex with RAB11A & RAB11FIP2 for transport of NPC1L1 to the plasma membrane
- together with RAB11A participates in CFTR trafficking to the plasma membrane & transferrin recycling in nonpolarized cells
- together with RAB11A & RAB8A participates in epithelial cell polarization
- together with RAB25 regulates transcytosis (putative)
- interacts with RAB11FIP2, RAB11A, & RAB8A
- found in a complex with CFTR & RAB11A
- interacts with NPC1L1
Structure
- contains 1 dilute domain
- contains 6 IQ domains
- contains 1 myosin head-like domain
Pathology
- defects in MYO5B are a cause of hereditary diarrhea type 2
